Out of the starting gate, again.
So months and months ago I was bitten by the hydroponic bug, found Urban Hydro’s website and pitched to Zach that I could offer a unique angle to his readers, the angle of a complete noob. Zach agreed and encouraged me to post, however, I felt I needed a robust grow. Something to show off before I started posting, something that would establish that while I was going to offer up the foibles of a newcomer I did have a clue. I read articles, bought equipment, and built growers. I thought I would start with a simple crop and try to nail it large scale. I never wrote a post. I harvested two spinach plants and a lettuce plant then spent the next six months killing seedlings, clogging lines, cleaning lines, cleaning up leaks, fixing leaks. I disassembled and gave up. Two weeks ago, I dug out my RainForest 36 and spinach seeds, cleaned up my grow tent and fished out some spinach seeds. I will try to document a slow pace introduction to hydroponics and mention the mistakes I made along the way. Hopefully these posts help you avoid the pitfalls that I didn’t.
