Over the metformin side effects 500mg past 2 weeks i’ve continue to have problems. After my update last week, i was pretty sure I had solved the problem, but it looks like that wasn’t the case. I’m just not sure why i can’t get the X-Nutrients to work well with these peppers. I’m keeping the Ph between 5.8-6.2, and PPM between 400-500. The two smaller peppers you saw on my last update are still basically the same size. They seem stunted and have bumpy leaves which is usually a sign of either too much nutrients, or a calcium deficiency, but i don’t see how that would be the case. I’m also seeing random leaves dropping off. After...

It’ s now metformin 1000 mg pcos been a full 4 weeks, and i’ve learned a few interesting things with this grow. As you can see one of the cayenne peppers has grown quite a bit larger than the other cayenne and habanero pepper. I think this is due to getting overfed slightly. I think the larger cayenne...

It’s been 2 weeks now and the peppers are coming along nicely. I did the first nutrient changeout today, and increased the nutrients to 8ml/g of the micro and 10ml/g of the grow nutrient. No other additives have been used besides the Hydroponix/X-Nutrients line. I still need to thin...
Roses anyone?
posted by ProZachJ
I know ornamental plants aren’t really in the mission statement of UHGU, but I have a closet that really isn’t usable space for anything but young plants or small vegatables. So I’ve been keeping a little side project growing this Rose bush under HydroGrow’s 126W...

Today I just finished setting up my new pepper grow. I’ll be growing two cayenne peppers, and one habanero pepper in a Hydrofarm Emily’s Garden. I planted the seeds directly into some rockwool cubes, then just watered them once per day until they sprouted. It took about 3 days. The...

I just finished a 6 week grow test with Omegagarden’s Volksgarden and Hydro Grow’s 504w Vertical light. I am thrilled with the results and I am looking forward to running many more tests with the unit. The vertical light did an amazing job of growing the lettuce and flowering a variety of heirloom tomatoes in 21 days. I had an almost completely ripe tomato by day 35 and many green tomatoes. This variety is supposed to take 90 days according to the seed package. I hope you enjoy the video and be sure to view on youtube and watch it in...
Strawberries starting to boost
posted by ProZachJ
Well It seems that I waited a bit too long to plant my strawberries this time because out of the 15 that I planted only seven rooted, but I just figure that means those are the strongest. I’ll just use runners to propagate them to fill my entire Super Cropper 15. Since I changed the plants over from Scotts Excel 15-5-15 Cal Mag to the HydroponiX samples that I received I have noticed a good uptick in growth. The plants have begun sending out runners and this morning I noticed the first flower is open. One piece of advice I would give to all new strawberry growers: Keep the nutrient light, especially in Veg. I have been running 1.15 EC...
LED Strawberries: Se...

After last years moderate success with strawberries under LED I’ve decided to stick with the principles that I’ve been stressing to all UHGU members, “Pick a crop and grow it over and over until you are an expert”. I’ve received 25 Albion strawberry runners. I...
Glow Panel Grow Off ends…
posted by ProZachJ
Between growing, trying to promote Super Croppers, and spending a large amount of time wakeboarding I neglected to post my Glow Panel Grow Off update videos. So I am going post the last two update that I did. I decided that I wanted a bit more production from these plants than small panels could provide so I upped the wattage by bringing in 4 UFOs. In the last video I discuss the issues that I have been having with getting the habeneros to fruit. I’ve decided to follow Mr. Iccus’ advice from his post “Inducing fruiting in problem peppers in the urban garden” Today I did a complete nutrient change and reset the...
The Volksgarden
posted by w8mk
The Volksgarden is a hydroponic system that grows 80 plants in a circulating wheel. It uses less water and nutrients than a lot of other hydroponic systems out there. I am told that it can grow romaine lettuce in 16 days as when the plants fight to maintain gravity they release a hormone...

So I took this video on day 7 and the pics on day 8. It also turns out, now that the plants are large enough for me to identify that the ones I was calling jalapeno are actually habenero and vice versa …oh well. Penetrator...

Here we go! Our LED Panel grow off has begun. Two Hydro Grow LED 50W Penetrators VS Two Sunshine Systems Glow Panel 45s. Each panel is going to be growing one pepper plant. Each side of the tent has one Jalapeno (Jalapeno Gigante) and one Habenero (Caribbean Red). I have divided the tent with...
